Weekly Catechism:
435   The name of Jesus is at the heart of Christian prayer. All liturgical prayers conclude with the words “through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Hail Mary reaches its high point in the words “blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.” The Eastern prayer of the heart, the Jesus Prayer, says: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” Many Christians, such as St. Joan of Arc, have died with the one word “Jesus” on their lips. (2667-2668, 2676)

“…as a matter of equality your abundance at the present time should supply their want, so that their abundance may supply your want, that there may be equality.”  – 2 CORINTHIANS 8:14
Not only are we responsible for our own lives, but we are responsible for the lives of those around us.  Not only is it important that we grow, nurture and share our gifts, but we should teach our children this same lesson and encourage others to do the same.

Project Advance – our annual appeal: Project Advance is the key annual appeal for the Archdiocese of Vancouver. It is crucial to the Church’s mission of providing services that benefit all Catholics and countless others in our Archdiocese. Not only does it provide for our local Church but it strengthens our parishes, helping each parish meet its own unique needs. It also helps support the many different ways we see the face of Jesus in our brothers and sisters – helping the most vulnerable by providing guidance, shelter, food and love to those who are homeless, abused and marginalized. You can donate to this important annual appeal at www.rcav.org/giving or at your parish. Visit rcav.org/project-advance for more information.
