Our Lady Of Mercy Parish’s Bulletin For September 27, 2015

Standard
26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners:
We just celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Mercy and I was impressed by your love for our Lady, despite of the rainfall you still came to celebrate with enthusiasm. I would like to thank again the committee of this event and each individual who had dedicated this event with their time, talent and financial support. In my homily I reminded you that each of you should give thank to Christ who has given you a generous heart and you had put it into practice. Moreover, be reminded that as our Lady was with her son on the cross and she would always be with you in the time of trials. Therefore, let each of us continue to serve the Lord with full of gratitude and always be reminded of the support of our Blessed Mother in every day of our life especially in time of sorrows.

Sincerely in Christ,
Father Nicolas

Stewardship Reflections

“Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward.”   (Mark 9:41)

Does your life reflect the life of Jesus?  Remember, we were made in His image.  We tend to forget this.  When others see you, do they see the face of Jesus?  When you look at others, do you see the face of Jesus in them?

Weekly Catechism:

CHAPTER TWO

I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD
III. The Only Son of God
445   After his Resurrection, Jesus’ divine sonship becomes manifest in the power of his glorified humanity. He was “designated Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his Resurrection from the dead.”57 The apostles can confess: “We have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”58 (653)
IV. Lord
446      In the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the ineffable Hebrew name YHWH, by which God revealed himself to Moses,59 is rendered as Kyrios, “Lord.” From then on, “Lord” becomes the more usual name by which to indicate the divinity of Israel’s God. The New Testament uses this full sense of the title “Lord” both for the Father and—what is new—for Jesus, who is thereby recognized as God Himself.60 (209)
