As our Parish 75th Anniversary celebration is under going and in order to celebrate this year the jubilee year of mercy and fulfilling the call of Pope Francis to help sponsoring the Syrian refugees, Our parish will put into action one of the Corporal works of mercy which is shelter the homeless/traveller by sponsoring two Orthodox Syrian families : Mr. Rimon Ghazzi with his wife & three children and Mr. Amin Akfali with his wife and daughter. We thank Mr. Ralph Guerra, the Archdiocese office for Private sponsorship refugees and the families of Couple for Christ for preparing their coming to Canada and we expect to welcome them within one month. We need your help whatever possible to welcome our brothers and sisters, for that cause please contact Ralph at (604)240- 1353. Also help us with our fundraising by purchasing the ticket for Fr. Rob Galea concert on March 6 at 1-3 pm at St. Thomas Moore Gym. Fr. Galea who is from Australia certainly will inspire our youths to follow Christ closer with the talents they have. There will be a talk given by Fr. Galea to our youth on March 6 at 10:00 am at the OLM gym. We encourage all parents to bring their youth to attend the talk and the concert. “I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD”
The Son of God Became Man
IV. How Is the Son of God Man?
479 At the time appointed by God, the only Son of the Father, the eternal Word, that is, the Word and substantial Image of the Father, became incarnate; without losing his divine nature he has assumed human nature.
480 Jesus Christ is true God and true man, in the unity of his divine person; for this reason he is the one and only mediator between God and men.
481 Jesus Christ possesses two natures, one divine and the other human, not confused, but united in the one person of God’s Son.
482 Christ, being true God and true man, has a human intellect and will, perfectly attuned and subject to his divine intellect and divine will, which he has in common with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
483 The Incarnation is therefore the mystery of the wonderful union of the divine and human natures in the one person of the Word.
Year of Mercy Reflections
February 7, 2016 *5th Sunday in Ordinary Time* :
“’For according to His greatness, so also is His mercy. (Eccl.2:23)’ It is well said that our sins are the seat of divine mercy. It is better said that God’s most beautiful name and title is this: Mercy. This must inspire us with a great hope amidst our tears.” – St. John XXIII
Prayers for the Sick
In your prayers, please remember the sick: Anaceto Rabang, Delima Ngui, Sydney
Shanti, Joveno Labandelo, Marie Piche, Lourdes Andal, Eleonora Favaro and Miguel Concon
Holy Communion: Any one who is shut-in and wishes to receive the Eucharist please let us know. If you have a loved one who is sick and needs our prayers, and would like to insert their name in the bulletin, kindly contact the office.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?’ ‘Here I am,’ I said, ‘send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8)
Every day – in little ways and in big ways – God asks, “Whom shall I send?” Whether it is someone to take on a new ministry or just someone to open a door for a stranger, God constantly provides doors of opportunity. The next time you hear God calling, have the courage to walk through the door and say “Here I am, Lord.”
