Dear Parishioners,
We just closed the month of Mary with the candle light procession and the pot luck dinner on the feast of Visitation. As I can recall that event went quite well. It is good to see how all the organizations come together to make this event success. I thank you to all of you who were part of this event and I ask our Blessed Mother to grant you her blessings. Please continue to keep this team spirit alive as we continue to make our parish as a vibrant and welcoming parish.

Sincerely in Christ,
Father Nicolas

Year of Mercy Reflections
“[We are here] to hear the voice of the Spirit speaking to the whole Church of our time, which is the time of mercy. I am sure of this…We are living in a time of mercy, and have been for 30 years or more, up to today. This was an intuition of Blessed John Paul II. He ‘sensed’ that this was the time of mercy…”
– Pope Francis

Weekly Catechism:

CHAPTER TWO: I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD

ARTICLE 3 : “HE WAS CONCEIVED BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND WAS BORN OF THE VIRGIN MARY”
Paragraph 3. The Mysteries of Christ’s Life
512 Concerning Christ’s life the Creed speaks only about the mysteries of the Incarnation (conception and birth) and Paschal mystery (passion, crucifixion, death, burial, descent into hell, resurrection, and ascension). It says nothing explicitly about the mysteries of Jesus’ hidden or public life, but the articles of faith concerning his Incarnation and Passover do shed light on the whole of his earthly life. “All that Jesus did and taught, from the beginning until the day when he was taken up to heaven,”171 is to be seen in the light of the mysteries of Christmas and Easter.
513 According to circumstances catechesis will make use of all the richness of the mysteries of Jesus. Here it is enough merely to indicate some elements common to all the mysteries of Christ’s life (I), in order then to sketch the principal mysteries of Jesus’ hidden (II) and public (III) life.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS

“And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.’”
LUKE 7:13

This verse is a great reminder that the Stewardship lifestyle is one of service, putting God first and to “love one another.” Unfortunately today, many people have “passion” for activities they enjoy – their job and off-work activities. Many times our “passion” to excel is at the expense of someone else. Maybe we need to focus on a little less passion for our individual concerns and a lot more compassion for others.
