September 25th, 2016. * 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time *
We just finished with our OLM novena Masses and may our Blessed Mother hear our prayers especially for sanctification of all clergies who have served our parish and all parishioners and their families. Also the celebration of the feast of OLM on Saturday, sept 24 as we showed our love to her by doing procession and offering of flowers to her. I am thanking all of you who have been a part of these events especially to the members of Lord of Pardon, Legion of Mary, CWL and Knights of Columbus. We still have one great event which is the 75th anniversary Mass and dinner when Archbishop Miller will be the main celebrant together with the former pastors Fathers: Terry, Wilfred and Jack and also Fr Rodney the vocation director. “My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented. Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established…” Luke 16:25-26
When God created the world He declared that it was good and He gave it to all mankind for us to enjoy. However, over the years we have created a chasm between those who have great gifts and those who do not. In today’s Gospel we see that with our own generosity we must bridge that gap between those who have much and those who have little or we may find ourselves on the wrong side of the chasm in the next life.

Year of Mercy Reflections
“Indeed, mercy is the central nucleus of the Gospel message; it is the very name of God, the Face with which he revealed himself in the Old Covenant and fully in Christ Jesus, the incarnation of creative and redemptive love.”
– Pope Benedict XVI
CHAPTER TWO: I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD
Paragraph 3. The Mysteries of Christ’s Life
II. The Mysteries of Jesus’ Infancy and Hidden Life
529 The presentation of Jesus in the temple shows him to be the firstborn Son who belongs to the Lord.216 With Simeon and Anna, all Israel awaits its encounter with the Savior—the name given to this event in the Byzantine tradition. Jesus is recognized as the long-expected Messiah, the “light to the nations” and the “glory of Israel,” but also “a sign that is spoken against.” The sword of sorrow predicted for Mary announces Christ’s perfect and unique oblation on the cross that will impart the salvation God had “prepared in the presence of all peoples.”
530 The flight into Egypt and the massacre of the innocents217 make manifest the opposition of darkness to the light: “He came to his own home, and his own people received him not.”218 Christ’s whole life was lived under the sign of persecution. His own share it with him.219 Jesus’ departure from Egypt recalls the exodus and presents him as the definitive liberator of God’s people.220
