October 2, 2016. * 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time *
As we are celebrating our parish’s 75th Anniversary, let us give thank and praise to the Lord Jesus and Mother Mary, our parish’s patroness for their care and guidance throughout these years. I also would like to thank each of you for whatever contribution you give to this parish. Let us also thank the committee of this 75th anniversary celebration and all organizations and individuals who have worked their best to make our celebration as a memorable moment. Let us also remember all priests, sisters and deacon who have served this parish and all benefactors which have made our parish as it is today where we all can worship the Lord Jesus faithfully. Let us recommit ourselves to continue serving the Lord Jesus with all the talents that He has given us and through our service we also will grow in holiness. With full of gratitude and joy I wish you all Happy 75th Anniversary in serving the Lord Jesus.
Sincerely in Christ †,
Pastor: Father Nicolas Tumbelaka

“For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:7
Many of us compartmentalize our Faith, we bring it out only when we attend Mass or when we attend a parish event. Being a good steward requires discipline and striving to put God first in everything, all the time. The next time you are at a neighborhood party, at work or out shopping, would your actions signal to others that you are a good and faithful servant of our Lord?

Year of Mercy Reflections
“May this merciful love (revealed in Christ) also shine on the face of the Church and show itself through the sacraments – in particular that of Reconciliation – and in the works of charity both communitarian and individual.”
– Pope Benedict XVI
CHAPTER TWO: I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD
Paragraph 3. The Mysteries of Christ’s Life
II. The Mysteries of Jesus’ Infancy and Hidden Life
531 During the greater part of his life Jesus shared the condition of the vast majority of human beings: a daily life spent without evident greatness, a life of manual labor. His religious life was that of a Jew obedient to the law of God,221 a life in the community. From this whole period it is revealed to us that Jesus was “obedient” to his parents and that he “increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.”222
532 Jesus’ obedience to his mother and legal father fulfills the fourth commandment perfectly and was the temporal image of his filial obedience to his Father in heaven. The everyday obedience of Jesus to Joseph and Mary both announced and anticipated the obedience of Holy Thursday: “Not my will. . . .”223 The obedience of Christ in the daily routine of his hidden life was already inaugurating his work of restoring what the disobedience of Adam had destroyed.224
