PRAYERS FOR THE SICK
In your prayers, please remember the sick:
Anaceto Rabang, Sydney Shanti, Marie Piche, Lourdes Andal, Miguel Concon and Lorena Siglos, Pedro Romey and Dianne Slaght.
Holy Communion: Any one who is shut-in and wishes to receive the Eucharist, please let us know. If you have a loved one who is sick and needs our prayers, and would like to insert their name in the bulletin, kindly contact the office.
“…for whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Pride and ego is the root cause of most of our sins. Thinking your time is so valuable, your talent is better than anyone else and your money gives you status is another way of making those things “gods” before God. Remember all those gifts were Godgiven. Instead we should be humbled by God’s abundant generosity and our hearts should be filled with gratitude.

Year of Mercy Reflections
“The Church must consider it one of her principal duties – at every stage of history and especially in our modern age – to proclaim and to introduce into life the mystery of mercy, supremely revealed in Jesus Christ.”
– St. John Paul the Great
CHAPTER TWO: I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD
Paragraph 3. The Mysteries of Christ’s Life
III. The Mysteries of Jesus’ Public Life
The baptism of Jesus
536 The baptism of Jesus is on his part the acceptance and inauguration of his mission as God’s suffering Servant. He allows himself to be numbered among sinners; he is already “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”232 Already he is anticipating the “baptism” of his bloody death.233 Already he is coming to “fulfill all righteousness,” that is, he is submitting himself entirely to his Father’s will: out of love he consents to this baptism of death for the remission of our sins.234 The Father’s voice responds to the Son’s acceptance, proclaiming his entire delight in his Son.235 The Spirit whom Jesus possessed in fullness from his conception comes to “rest on him.”236 Jesus will be the source of the Spirit for all mankind. At his baptism “the heavens were opened”237—the heavens that Adam’s sin had closed—and the waters were sanctified by the descent of Jesus and the Spirit, a prelude to the new creation.
