STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS
“But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, ‘Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor, and if I extorted anything from anyone I shall repay it four times over.’” LUKE 19:8
We are all called to graciously give back to the Lord in proportion to the blessings we have been given. This means everyone isn’t called to give the same amount, but is called to give equal sacrifice. No amount is too small or insignificant! Open your heart, how is God calling you?

Year of Mercy Reflections
“The Church enables us to encounter the mercy of God which transforms us, for in her Jesus Christ is present who has given her the true confession of faith, the fullness of the sacramental life, and the authenticity of the ordained ministry.”

– Pope Francis

WEEKLY CATECHISM:
CHAPTER TWO: I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD
III. The Mysteries of Jesus’ Public Life
The baptism of Jesus
537 Through Baptism the Christian is sacramentally assimilated to Jesus, who in his own baptism anticipates his death and resurrection. The Christian must enter into this mystery of humble self–abasement and repentance, go down into the water with Jesus in order to rise with him, be reborn of water and the Spirit so as to become the Father’s beloved son in the Son and “walk in newness of life”:238 Let us be buried with Christ by Baptism to rise with him; let us go down with him to be raised with him; and let us rise with him to be glorified with him.239 Everything that happened to Christ lets us know that, after the bath of water, the Holy Spirit swoops down upon us from high heaven and that, adopted by the Father’s voice, we become sons of God.240

SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
sacrament-of-matrimonyMarriage is the union of God of a man and a woman so that they will become life time partners to each other and “the two will become one flesh.” Two thousand years ago, our Lord, Jesus Christ, had blessed the newly wedded couple at the Wedding of Cana and had instituted the Sacrament of Marriage. It is important for husband and wife to receive this blessing. The Church, therefore, requires all faithful to be married in the Church through which they will receive this Sacrament and the graces it confers. If there are any couples who are not married in the Church but would like to receive this Sacrament by convalidation, please discuss this matter with Deacon Ken Fung. To make an appointment with him, please contact the Parish Office at 604-522-5733.
