Encounter with my Lord…
Encounter with my Lord…
My parents are Catholic and I had grown up knowing this and asked to be baptized when I was younger but my parents had said it’s my choice and I should wait till I was older to decide. I remember carrying a cross with Jesus on it and wearing it as a necklace which made me feel protected even at such a young age in elementary school. My image has always been of Jesus on the cross. I also remember my little sister who passed away at very young age. I know that she is in good hands in heaven with God. This year has been a difficult year for me personally and I believe this was my time, my calling to get to know more about God.
My daughter has been my inspiration through the past year and a half attending Our Lady of Mercy School. She had asked me questions about the bible and I really didn’t have an answer for her. I want to have more knowledge so I can answer her questions in the future.
While attending the RCIA journey, I found myself having more patience and grew to know more about God. I learned that God has unconditional love for his children and forgives those who have sinned. I feel at peace coming to class and being with this community full of genuinely nice people. I am learning to pray more and know that praying is the best way to give and receive Jesus.
I would love to be one of Gods children and also learn more about Him. I have always found God inviting me at different times in my life to be one of His children. I have decided to attend Sunday Mass regularly and accept His invitation. Barbara*)

…and you shall know that I am the Lord
The people of Israel failed again and again to be good stewards of God’s covenant with them. A stiff-necked and prideful people, they followed their own advice. Still, God is always merciful, and through the prophet Ezekiel he promises to restore them, not simply for their own good, but to remind them of his divine sovereignty over all that they are ever able to accomplish or possess. God is the one and only true source of all of our talents, abilities, opportunities, and possessions. Humbly accepting this stewardship reality is the way to avoid a prideful disposition. Humility is the stewardship virtue that gets pride out of the way and enables God to use us, and the gifts given to us, to advance his Kingdom.
